Installing Ubiquity on Windows

System Requirements

Before you begin, make sure your PC meets these requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11
  • Processor: Microsoft Visual C++ 2022
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended)
  • Disk Space: 200 MB of free space for installation
  • .NET Runtime: Included with the installer (no extra download needed)

Download the Installer

Head over to the Ubiquity product page and click the Download for Windows button. The installer will automatically detect your system architecture and provide the correct version (x64 or x86).

Step-by-Step Installation

The Ubiquity installer uses a standard Windows Setup wizard. Follow these steps to get up and running:

  1. Run the installer.
    Locate the downloaded file (Ubiquity_x64.exe or Ubiquity_x86.exe) in your Downloads folder and double-click it to launch the setup wizard.
  2. Accept the license agreement.
    Read through the End User License Agreement, then check the box to accept the terms and click Next to continue.
  3. Choose the install location.
    The default location is C:\Program Files\Ubiqulon\Ubiquity. You can change this if you prefer a different drive or folder, then click Next.
  4. Start the installation.
    Click Install. The wizard will copy files and set up Ubiquity on your system. This usually takes less than a minute.
  5. Finish the setup.
    Once the installation completes, click Finish. You can optionally check the Launch Ubiquity checkbox to open it right away.

Note: If Windows SmartScreen displays a warning because the app is new, click More info and then Run anyway. Ubiquity is safe and does not modify system files.

First Launch

After installation, Ubiquity will appear in your Start Menu. On the first launch, the application will:

You can open the search window anytime by pressing the default shortcut Ctrl + Space or by clicking the tray icon.

Uninstalling

If you ever need to remove Ubiquity, open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Ubiquity in the list, and click Uninstall. The uninstaller will cleanly remove all application files. Your search index data can optionally be kept for a future reinstall.
